This one-of-a-kind property in the prestigious Lake MacLeod neighborhood was a true collaboration between Beall’s Design Team, Barrington Homes, the architect, and the homeowner—beginning before construction even started. From the earliest stages, our team worked in tandem to create a Mediterranean-inspired outdoor retreat, seamlessly integrated with the home’s architecture and natural surroundings.
Front Yard Elegance
The front landscape was designed with a formal aesthetic—clean lines, minimalist plantings, and a striking focal-point fountain. Travertine pavers and a custom sandstone wall echoed the home’s natural stone veneer, creating harmony between the architecture and landscape. A paver walkway connects the front elements to the backyard, providing a cohesive transition.
Backyard Resort Living
The centerpiece of the backyard is a custom-built pool slide, nestled into a naturalistic boulder landscape and surrounded by lush plantings. On the opposite end, a beautifully designed pool house offers covered seating, a bathroom, and storage—allowing for convenient outdoor living. A multi-tiered natural stone waterfall on the left side of the property provides a visual and auditory focal point, visible from multiple angles of the home and pool.
Travertine pavers were selected for the pool deck to add warmth and elegance, while synthetic turf was used to soften the space around the firepit and create a play area for children. Layered plantings—featuring perennials, ornamental grasses, and ground covers—offer seasonal interest and enhance the Mediterranean feel, while taller plantings provide privacy along the property’s edges.
Lighting & Finishing Touches
Low-voltage lighting was strategically installed to accent hardscape features, walkways, and patio areas. Uplighting highlights architectural features of the home, key trees within the landscape, and mature specimens in the backyard. A final addition of gas torches added a dramatic and luxurious finishing touch—bringing resort-style ambiance to life.
This project is a perfect example of what’s possible when great design, quality craftsmanship, and early planning come together to create a stunning, functional, and timeless outdoor living space.
