Multi-Level Landscaping with Pool

The front yard, being level, was ideal for a beautifully designed concrete governor’s driveway. In the backyard, multiple entertaining zones were created near the home. The upper terrace served as a space for grilling and lounging, while the lower level connected to a walkout basement. A flagstone walkway seamlessly linked the home to the pool area.

By positioning the pool farther back in the yard, we preserved a generous lawn area for the children to play and added space for their playground. Many homeowners appreciate this layout, as it makes the pool feel like a true backyard destination. To support this concept, a custom pool house was added, offering convenient amenities close to the water.

Modern design elements were a priority for the homeowners. The pool deck was crafted with textured, stamped concrete that complemented the boulder retaining walls—essential for creating a flat area suitable for the pool. The pool house, with its clean roof lines and contemporary architecture, echoed the sleek aesthetic the clients envisioned.

To soften the extensive hardscaping, we incorporated landscape turf as an additional seating area. Strategic privacy plantings helped transform the space into a secluded oasis. Around the pool, the landscape design featured a modern, minimalist planting scheme with pops of color for visual interest. Finishing touches like subtle lighting and tiki torches completed the look, giving the backyard a true resort-style feel.
